Teen Individual Therapy
Being a teen today is a lot. Anxiety, school pressures, friendships, family dynamics, identity exploration, social media, and constant comparison can leave teens feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or disconnected from themselves. Therapy offers a steady place to make sense of these experiences without judgment or expectation.
In our work together, teens learn how to navigate strong emotions, build coping skills, understand their nervous system, and strengthen self-confidence and communication. Therapy can also support body image struggles, eating concerns, perfectionism, and the feeling of needing to “keep it all together” on the outside while struggling internally.
Why Therapy Can Help
Teens are in a stage of rapid change—emotionally, socially, and neurologically. During these years, the brain is wiring for identity, autonomy, and emotional regulation. Having a supportive therapeutic relationship during this season can:
reduce anxiety and stress
improve emotion regulation and communication
strengthen identity and self-worth
support healthy body image and relationship with food
increase resilience and flexibility
improve executive functioning and coping skills
help navigate transitions, friendships, and family dynamics
reduce shame, isolation, and overwhelm
Most importantly, therapy gives teens a place to be honest, messy, curious, or confused—without fear of disappointing others.
