About Kayla Heuer

From a young age, I knew I wanted to help people—I just wasn’t sure what that would look like. I’ve always found deep meaning in comforting others through hard times and in trying to understand what it means to be human. My years in customer service showed me how small moments of genuine connection can bring a sense of stability and care—how simply being seen can make a difference. I often found myself making coffee and wishing for more than a quick, polite exchange. These experiences eventually guided me toward earning my undergraduate degree in Healthy Lifestyle Coaching from Arizona State University, where I became fascinated by the many layers that shape our overall wellbeing—physical, emotional, and relational.

My path to becoming a therapist also grew from my own journey with chronic physical and mental health challenges. For years, I struggled with stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, and disordered eating—seeking help from countless doctors who couldn’t quite identify the root of what was wrong. The frustration of not feeling understood or truly seen left me feeling stuck and disconnected from myself.

In trying to heal, I became my own advocate—diving into research and exploring every modality I could find. Over time, that search became rigid, and my anxiety only deepened. It wasn’t until I began therapy myself that I truly understood how deeply our minds and bodies are connected. Through that process, I found healing, clarity, and a new way of being—one grounded not in control, but in connection and trust.

As a therapist, I blend all that I’ve learned through my own experiences—personally and professionally—to support clients as they navigate life’s transitions, rebuild their relationship with themselves and their bodies, and create meaningful, lasting change from the inside out.
